Gaming Performance - Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4
For our games testing we selected four popular online games -
Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and
Race Driver: GRID all of which were run at 1,680 x 1,050 with maximum quality settings and no AA applied. Frame rates were tested using FRAPS which ran for three separate 60 second periods; an average of the three returned results was taken.
Pings were measured over a four minute period in each game and were recorded by holding down the button to display pings while FRAPS took screen shots every 30 seconds. Results were then added up and averaged to get our average ping for that four minute period.
Team Fortress 2
Our
Team Fortress 2 testing was carried out on a European 32-slot server on the ctf_well map. Ping was recorded using the net_graph 3 command.
